一、themes：
this healthy buildings 2023 asia and pacific rim is going to be a highly multi-disciplinary and inter-disciplinary conference, upholding the theme of “resilient healthy buildings and the low-carbon solutions”. the conference aims to address the challenges of buildings in epidemic control, health resilience, and the reduction of carbon-based energy use when constructing and operating healthy buildings.
the multi-discipline and inter-discipline feature are largely embodied in the conference topics, which ensures the full participation of different disciplines related to buildings, health, medical, energy, people, management, policy, etc. a preliminary list is presented below:

三、student programs：
to better organize, manage and develop a great student program in healthy buildings 2023 asia, we plan to set a student committee under the leadership of the conference organization committee. the concrete student programs and additional information are listed below:
1. international student fellowship programthe student committee has authority to organize an exchange program. we will provide space and necessary financial support for their activities. this program can better facilitate communication among students from different backgrounds, disciplines, and countries.
2. training courses for studentswe will organize a series of education and training courses for registered students on sunday. every student should decide whether to attend the training courses during online registration. we promise some famous experts and professors to be invited to these courses. this will provide a golden opportunity for students to have close contact and face-to-face communication with these leading professors.
3. student practical design competition programstudents are encouraged to take part in the student practical design competition program. we, together with isc and student committee, will select 9 students to present their work in this plenary session. these students are also encouraged to bring widgets, small-scale mockups, or recorded videos to the conference for booth show during the conference. an adjudication panel will be invited to choose the student competition award winner and to present the award at the closing ceremony.
四、virtual conference：
healthy buildings 2023 asia is planned to be organized as a safe physical and face-to-face conference. we ensure a safe event and will take all necessary measures and we will follow government guidelines, so that the conference can take place in a safe way.
however, in the case of force majeure (e.g. travelling to china is not allowed by the authorities, social distancing puts a limit on the allowed participants below the threshold set, conferences are not allowed, etc.), we may need to prepare for plan b. for example, we may switch to an online, or a hybrid alternative, i.e., online for those in outside of mainland china but face-to-face for the chinese participants. if so, we will design an open internet platform for conference live online.
五、submission：
the organizing committee cordially invites you to submit abstract, paper, and workshop proposal to healthy buildings 2023 asia and pacific rim. our conference theme is resilient healthy buildings and the low-carbon solutions. the conference aims to address the challenges of buildings in epidemic control, health resilience, and the reduction of carbon-based energy use when constructing and operating healthy buildings.
六、registration：
the full registration (including student attendees) will cover all technical sessions including opening and closing ceremonies, welcome reception, conference materials, lunch, coffee/tea breaks, and conference banquet. the deadline of the early registration is apr. 30, 2023.
in the case of force majeure (e.g. travelling to china is not allowed by the authorities, social distancing puts a limit on the allowed participants below the threshold set, conferences are not allowed, etc.), we may switch to an online, or a hybrid alternative, i.e., online for those in outside of mainland china but face-to-face for the chinese participants. the following table lists suggested livestream registration fee. the livestream conference registration includes all plenary sessions and one featured track per concurrent session.
七、tianjin, china：
tianjin is a municipality directly under the people's republic of china. it is the economic center of bohai rim and an international comprehensive transportation hub. tianjin is located in the northeast of the north china plain, in the lower reaches of the haihe river basin, bordering the bohai sea to the east, yanshan mountains to the north, and approximately 130 km southeast to beijing, which takes a half hour from beijing to tianjin by the beijing-tianjin inter-city railway. tianjin is the main node of china-mongolia-russia economic corridor, the strategic fulcrum of the maritime silk road, the meeting point of "one belt and one road". tianjin is known as the international architecture exposition. the city architecture has unique characteristics. there are both elegant ancient architecture and many novel and unique western architecture, such as britain in the ancient, german gothic, french romantic, russian classical, greek athens, japan's emperor crown type, etc. tianjin has world-leading building construction industries and enterprises, universities and research centers, contributing to a more sustainable and healthy building environment.
tianjin is a charming seaport city with the famous hai river flowing through. the city has a lot of sunshine, beautiful landscapes, gourmet seafood, and friendly people. you can take a ride on ‘the tianjin eye’, which is the only ferris wheel built on a bridge in the world. at the highest point of tianjin eye, you can have a wonderful view of the city. you can also take the sightseeing boat in the hai river and enjoy the beautiful buildings with exotic architectural style from the 19th century to date on the two sides of the river. tianjin has delicious seafood and greasy goubuli steamed bun to tempt your stomach. you can listen to the chinese comic dialog to enjoy the chinese traditional art and feel the humor of tianjin natives. walking on five major streets which includes chongqing road, changde road, dali road, munan road, and machang road, you will find many masions that are not only the relics of the history, but also the city logo and a coagulation art.
八、visa to china：
most foreign participants need to apply a visa to enter the border of china. the application of a tour visa to china is relatively easier, thus we suggest you to travel to china with a tour visa. however, in case you need an official business visa, please contact mengqiang lv, the conference secretary for registration, travel and logistics. email: lvmq@tju.edu.cn.

九、venue：
potential conference venue - wanda vista hotel
the conference will potentially be held at tianjin wanda vista hotel. wanda vista hotel tianjin is a five-star hotel in downtown tianjin. ishvac-cobee2015 international conference was successfully organized in this hotel with more than 550 participants. the hotel is a 7-minute walk from dongxinglu metro station, 6 km away from tianjin railway station, and 10 km away from tianjin binhai international airport.
the chinese/western cafeteria in the hotel will be used for the preparation of arranged lunches, the chinese/western banquet hall for the opening reception and the conference banquet. tea/coffee breaks are arranged for during the conference. besides, conventional cakes, coffee and tea, local specialty snacks will be provided for a taste of tianjin. access to the convention foyer and additional rooms for the speaker’s lounge, vip room, conference office, etc., are to be provided, too.
